Seeing a gynecologist during the early teen years is important to help your daughter understand the changes and issues she's facing, to have her concerns addressed and questions answered, and to ensure she understands the health risks that are associated with being sexually active. Adolescent gynecologists can also help young women feel more confident about their bodies and enjoy optimal health and wellness.

A physical exam will focus primarily on the external genitalia and belly areas. Once the exam is complete, both your and your daughter will be able to discuss any treatment recommendations that may be made as well as to ask questions.
